Making Healthy Sandwiches with Stonemill Bakehouse Bread

Stonemill Bakehouse is a family bakery that started crafting quality artisan bread in Germany for 100 years. They have been continuing this tradition since 1982 in Canada, and their first location in Unionville and the St. Lawrence Market has been open for more than 20 years. Now we can purchase Stonemill's bread at major retailers and specialty stores in Ontario and select retailers across Canada and United States. Stonemill’s core values, People, Planet, Prosperity are the cornerstone to Stonemill’s goal to be carbon neutral.
It is easy to instantly enjoy this great tasting, healthy bread. I really like that their breads are made with 100% natural ingredients, and does not have any added sugar or preservatives found in bread these days. They use whole grains, sprouted grains, organic sourdough and slow fermentation in making their high fibre bread. There is delicious flavour in every bite of their low in fat and low in sodium breads, which are loaded with seeds for nutrition, taste, and texture.
Their breads are separated into three categories; 12 types of wellbeing bread, 5 types of healthy indulgence bread, and 7 types of healthy Artisan bread. Since bread is an important source of energy for everyone in my family, I like to choose bread that contains healthy ingredients. The Canadian food guide recommends eating 6 to 8 servings and grain products everyday, and 1 slice of bread counts as 1 serving. Stonemill's bread uses a variety of sprouted grain and whole grain that has health benefits such as reducing the risk of heart disease, and helps with weight control. I really like that some of their breads have 25% of the daily value of added Vitamin D per serving (2 slices of their bread), which is really benefitting as we don't get enough Vitamin D in Canada.
We enjoyed making a variety of sandwiches with the Stonemill Bakehouse bread. This Tuna Sandwich has become a favourite; we even took the ingredients to a picnic.
You will need...
Stonemill Bakehouse bread
Mayo
Spicy Thai Chilli Tuna or any other flavour
Salad leaves
Tomato
Cucumber
Red onion

Spread the Mayo, then the Spicy Thai Chilli Tuna on the bread. Then place the salad leaves, tomato slices, cucumber slices, and sliced red onion on the sandwich and enjoy.

Both children and adults will enjoy Stonemill Bakehouse breads. Keep up-to-date with Stonemill Bakehouse products on their Facebook
