I love baking these soft, sweet sugar buns often. If you are using a mixer with a paddle it is quick and does not need any kneading by hand.
3 1/4 cup flour
1/2 cup dry milk powder
1 tbsp yeast
1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/4 cup butter
1 tsp salt
1 cup lukewarm water
1 cup lukewarm water
1/4 cup brown sugar to sprinkle on top
Put the yeast with 1 tsp of sugar and a little bit of the water, and let it rise and bubble. Add all the ingredients except for the water brown sugar. Add the water little at a time and knead it for about 15 minutes or about 10 minutes in the mixer, and leave it in a oiled bowl for an hour to double in size.
Divide the dough into two then roll it thin and make a rectangle. Cut into triangles and roll it from the long end to the short end tightly and leave it to rise again for about an hour.
Brush the top of the buns with water or melted butter and sprinkle the brown sugar on top and bake at 320F for about 30 minutes, then increase the heat to 325F and bake for another 10 minutes until the top of the buns are golden brown.
