These are easy to make tea time snack. We like to enjoy these delicious snacks with tea or coffee in the evening. To make these Æbleskiver Sweets or Paniyaram you will need...
1/2 cup semolina
1/.4 cup water
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup freshly grated coconut
1 tsp ghee
3 cardamom ground
oil to cook
Soak the semolina or durum wheat in the water for about 10 minutes. Sauté the cardamom and fresh coconut using 1 tsp ghee. In a blender grind the soaked semolina, sugar, cardamom, and coconut for a couple of minutes the mixture will have a thick pancake consistency.
Put the Æbleskiver pan to heat up on low heat. Fill the holes in the pan with about 1 tsp of oil. If we use less oil to cook the sweets will burn quickly. Let each side of the sweets cook for about couple of minutes before turning it. When the sweets cool it will harden. These sweets will stay well in an airtight container for a couple of days.
