Cheesecake served with Dole Fruits

cheesecake with dole fruit
Dole has launched a fresh innovation for ready-to-eat fruit. We found the new Dole Resealable Fruit Pouches to be a time-saving way to enjoy fresh tasting fruit instantly. It is perfect for occasions or places where we don't have the luxury of kitchen tools, for example to take during picnics and camping, for office snacks, and sports games.

The fruits Dole Resealable Fruit Pouches taste the same as the canned dole fruits. We can enjoy it the same way we would enjoy fresh fruit with cereals or other desserts, use in smoothies, or on-the-go straight out of the pouch.

Dole Resealable Fruit Pouches are available in five flavours packed in fruit juice including:

Fruit Cocktail with Cherries*
Sliced Peaches*
Tropical Gold Pineapple Chunks
Mandarin Oranges
Sliced Pears

*also available packed in water, for a no sugar added option.

What I like the best about these resealable pack format is there is no need to strain or transfer fruit to another container after opening. We can just tear open, enjoy, reseal, and refrigerate. Unopened pouches can stay in a cupboard or in the fridge to enjoy chilled, delicious fruit anytime. Once it is opened it needs to be refrigerated. These pouches can be found in the canned fruit aisle.

I served the Fruit Cocktail with Cherries with a quick basic cheesecake. To make the cheesecake you will need...

For the cookie base
about 1 to 1 1/2 cups of Graham crackers or Marie Biscuit crushed
1/4 cup butter melted
3 tbsp sugar if you are using Graham crackers

Prepare the cookie base by mixing the butter and sugar with the crushed cookies. Press the mixture to the bottom of the baking pan. Leave it in the fridge to set for about 10 minutes.

For the cheesecake batter
3 packages of cream cheese
3 eggs
1 tbsp vanilla
3/4 cup sugar

Beat the cream cheese and then add the sugar and vanilla. Add the eggs one at a time and blend. Pour over the crust.

Bake in a 325F preheated oven until the cheesecake sets. Depending on the size and type of baking pan used the baking time can vary between 40 to 50 minutes or less. Insert a skewer and check. The center does not need to be fully set, remove the cake if it is almost set or the cake might feel dry. Refrigerate the cake for about 4 hours before serving with the fruits.
