This delicious semolina crepe known as rava dosa is easy to prepare and can be served with green chutney, tomato chutney, and sambar or other curries.
1 cup rice flour
1/2 cup all purpose flour
1 tsp salt
1 onion chopped
2 green or red chillie chopped
1 tbsp ginger chopped or grated
2 tbsp curry leaves chopped
1 tsp cumin seeds
4 cups water to get a smooth batter
oil for the pan
Mix all the ingredients together to make a thin flowing batter. Leave the batter covered for about half an hour. Before making each dosa, mix the batter well as the flours would have settled on the bottom. Add more water if needed as the batter needs to be thin.
Spread some oil on the flat frying pan or tawa. Pour the dosa batter starting from the edges and move towards the middle, and cook it on medium to medium high heat.
When the top side looks cooked, sprinkle a tsp of oil to make the bottom of the dosa golden and crisp. The dosa can be turned and cooked on the other side.
